What to Do On the First Date

Most of us do not spend too much time thinking about the first date. However, for some people, this is actually a turning point. This is for those who have not been on a date for a while, those who have divorced, or they are after a breakup. In this case, the first date can actually be pretty demanding and time-consuming.

In fact, when we think about it, the very first date will actually decide the potential fate of the relationship and perhaps the rest of your life. In addition, since we all know that the first impression is what matters the most, we need to do our best in order to please our partner and ourselves. As a matter of fact, the first date is about testing both your compatibilities.

If you want to improve your odds, you need to think this through. There are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that both of you have a memorable experience. While the place of the date is somehow important, the way you behave on a date might seem like the most important criteria. Here are some of the most important things you need to keep in mind when going on a first date.

First of all, think about the place. The place you choose to go on a date has a lot to do with your age and expectations out of the date. For example, if you just want to have a single date, with a person whom you want to date only for a while, you need to focus on something simple, something that has no strings attached. In the case of a serious relationship, you might consider having a nice dinner on a fancy restaurant, where you can prove your capabilities.

Next, you have to be careful how you behave. Even if you are a man or the woman of this date, you still need to try to show the best out of yourself. However, try to avoid to show off too much, to brag, or to make a fool out of yourself. In the same time, try to keep the date personal. If you want to know what to do on a date, stop thinking about what others think. Plan the date keeping both your interests in mind. It is better to make a little bit of research before, to see her or his interests, passions and likes. In this way, you can easily find something in common, something that both of you like, such as a nice restaurant, or a band you both like.

If you still do not have a clue, you can easily ask your date for suggestions. This will make her feel special, appreciated, and involved. Some girls expect full designed plans and details for the first date, but some of them actually like being involved in planning and arrangements.

You could also test your compatible. Sometimes, asking the right question might help you spot the resemblance or the difference between you too. You need to be careful on what you choose to ask, not to be rude and inappropriate. After all, you are dating a person you barely know, and you do not know how he or she will react when facing some difficult questions.

In the last part, in order to have a successful date, you need to keep in mind some important rules. Do not be late on a date, and do not ever stand your date up. If you are a man, you need to behave politely, to be a gentleman, which treats the date like a lady. In the end, if you want to make sure your date will remember the first date, make sure you create valuable memories. The first date should be memorable because it will be a talking topic for a while, especially if you choose to make it a real relationship.

How to Make the First Date Perfect

First dates are hard for pretty much anybody. When you think about having to spend some time in the company of a person you like but you do not it very well, might be quite anxiety provoking. And that is for a good reason. Moreover, when you think about the fact that you will never have another chance for creating a good first impression.

The stakes are pretty high when you have just met a great woman that you might share the rest of your life with, and you definitely need to do the best out of yourself. For this reason, here are three aspects that you need to keep in mind to make the first date perfect.

1. It is a date, not a job interview

Men focus mostly on behaving politely on a first date, but sometimes, too much politeness can become actually boring. Most women come share the first impressions with others, and they really need to be impressed. For this, a man needs to heat up the usual, to make the first meeting polite, and to bring in conversations by nurturing interest, excitement, and enticement in a woman. The easiest way to do this is to speak to her as if you want to have fun. You can also treat her like a friend instead of a potential employer.

In the same time, focus on bringing common talking points in the conversations and redirect it in a way that creates fun instead of tension and stiffness. For instance, if she is wearing something interesting or out of the ordinary, you could tease her gently about it. Instead of wasting too much time talking about your job, you can share an exciting experience you had in the past, asking her to share one of hers.

2. Avoid Difficult Questions

Once a woman you just meet starts to think about you as a potential relationship partner, you should stop with the annoying and attraction killing questions. For instance, on a first date, it is imperative to avoid questions such as “Where do you think this is going?” or “So, do you like me?’. These types of questions suggest desperation and desperation is the biggest attraction killer. In the same time, you will make a girl or women feel uncomfortable and nervous. Instead, you can ask so many interesting questions regarding her job, her likes and dislikes, her hobbies and passions. Show her you are aware, interested, and inquisitive.

3. The Right Body language

Besides the right questions, you also need to pay a lot of attention to your body language. When you meet a woman for the first time, you need to pay attention to how you choose to stand in front of her. After all, the body language does the talking for you, even before you actually start saying words out of your mouth. It is important to maintain eye contact all the time. This will suggest confidence and awareness. Sit upright. Is she draws her back away from you, never lean into reach her. Instead, make sure you draw back too. When you speak, use a low, slow voice tone. If you rush your words, and you practically yell at her, you are more likely to say stupid and perhaps rude things.

As a bottom line, if you want to make your first date perfect, you should act like a friend instead of stiff, avoid asking stupid questions and use the right body language. If you follow these simple guidelines, I am sure you will be just fine, and you will definitely impress your girl.

Guidelines to Find the Place for a First Date

I know you all have heard many things on how you should behave when having your first date, what you should say, and how to act. These rules might seem unnecessary, but in fact, they can turn out to be pretty important for the incoming dates.

The first date is all about making a good first impression. After all, this is the time you get to know a person for the first time, and in case you know her a while back, you will get to know her in a different manner. In order for the first date to work, you will have to keep in mind a few aspects. As long as you follow these simple advices, I am sure that you will be just fine.

The first thing you need to consider is when you plan to ask her to a date. Avoid taking her out on Saturday or Friday night. On these nights, you will encounter all that noise and the partying. She will expect high-energy fun. To avoid competing to this, you can simply ask her out in any other day of the week. The expectations are relaxed, and you can take full advantage of your night.

When asking her to go out with you, do not call it a date. The way in which you pop up the question is quite important because it suggests a way in which your partner will perceive the meeting. Simply ask her for a drink or a coffee, and then see how things turnout to be.

The first date should not be about dinner. Avoid taking your first date on a dinner night. If you are going to pay for a dinner, you will end up pressuring her. If you split the bill, then you could look cheap. A drink is more appropriate because you will have a chance to talk, to be relatively close, instead of eating face to face, without having any physical contact at all.

In the same time, you should search for a place quiet. If you met her on a loud bar or club, you want to get her out of that place, to a place more relaxing, a place which will allow you to talk without having to yell at each other.  The first date is all about knowing each other, feeling comfortable and entertaining.

Spend as little money on the date as possible. I am sure that pretty much none of you would like to pick up an expensive tab for a woman. It things happen, she wants to feel like she did it because she wanted, not because she is obligated. You can even say you will pay for the first round, and she needs to pay for the second one.

In this way, you will not make her feel poor, and depended on your financial status. Trust me; this is pretty bad for a first date. On the other hand, if the bill is relative acceptable, there is nothing wrong to pay for it yourself.

Keep in mind that the date is all about two persons. Never meet up with your friends or her friends. Useless, it was agreed from the start that it would be that kind of double or triple date, do not meet with her friends or yours under any circumstances. In this way, you will avoid her being analyzed, feeling uncomfortable and anxious.

The date is only about the two of you. In addition, it is important to find a place not too far from your house. It things start to happen, and they lead to the right thing, you will want to go back to your place.

If you do take her back to your place, you will need an excuse, but if your house is right around the corner, you will succeed. If she is meeting you, she is already attracted to you, therefore, as long as you act, as you should, I am sure that you might take things to a different level, and you might end up having a second date, the third date and so on.

First Date Rules And Details

The first date can actually be an uncomfortable moment, especially if you do not know your partner. In case you are afraid of messing this up, you need to keep in mind a few things. As long as you follow these simple first date rules, I am sure that you will have a memorable first date, one that can help you move to the next level.

Sometimes, girls and women can be hard to please, and this is why you need to do your best in order to make the date worth it. You need to plan everything from the start, to avoid incoming surprises and the most important to impress her with your actions. Therefore, to make your first date perfect and to make a good impression, you should keep in mind the following rules.

1. Always have a backup plan.

No matter how many times you confirm your plans, of how solid you think they are, sometimes, something wrong might happen, and your whole date is going to be ruined. Perhaps, the restaurant where you want to go has some problems, or one of you runs into an ex, the band you plan to attend was cancelled. No matter what plans you planned for the first date, make sure you always have a backup plan, just in case something else happens.

2. Short date only

In order to avoid getting bored or boring your companion, you should think about planning a short date. A first date can easily change everything, so you need to be very careful when planning the details. Try keeping your first date to no more than two hours. Then, if things really go well, you can always extend to a date longer, later. However, in this way, you will not feel anxious, you will have something to talk about, and you will enjoy your date.

3. Do not be late

There is nothing worse than a date that is late. So, do not show up late at the first date since you might end up being stood up. The girl does not like to wait for a boy, especially if this is the first time she sees it. Since first dates are stressful enough, make a point of being there on time.

4. Agree on details

Here is where you need to talk in advance, to know what you want to do for the first date, to share with her the same details, so she could wear something appropriate. If you are going to attend a band, she will have to wear casual clothes, but if you choose to take her to a restaurant, she will have to wear something elegant. In both cases, you will have to agree on what to wear. After all, if this is your first date, you will want to know what she is wearing in order to recognize her.

5. Give appropriate compliments

If you find something that catches your eyes on your partner, do not be afraid to say it. However, do not exaggerate with compliments and say only the right things. Anything more than two or three compliments will make you should desperate, and this is not the kind of first impression you want to make. Choose your words carefully, and do not make her feel uncomfortable. Also, be sincere, honest, and flattering, but try to keep the first date compliments to things you would not feel comfortable hearing about yourself.

First Date Tips for the Mature Dater

When you decide to start dating again after a long time, it might seem very hard to put your back on your feet. However, this is not impossible. For this reason, here are some tips and tricks that might help you get more comfortable and secure on a first date. After that, things will flow on their regular path.

In the time, especially after a long relationship or marriage, the stressful life, illness, or the difficult end of a lifetime relationship might seriously affect the confidence and the self-esteem, making it harder to keep it positive about yourself and the way you look. In this way, if you are approaching the matter in the right way, you will definitely find a solution. After all, there is someone out there for every one of us.

First of all, in order to raise the level of confidence and self-esteem, you need to feel right about your looks and you in general. For this, there might be a little bit of work before you actually go on a first date. For this reason, I am sure that most of you make use of different websites or social networks.

Online Profile and Picture

In this respect, you need to make the most out of your best feature. Your main profile picture is the first thing new people will notice, so you will have to be perfect. This does not mean that you will have to hire a professional photographer or to make use of various photo programs. Just take a look in the mirror, find out which is your best feature and then, when you take a picture, focus on it. As I mentioned before, the picture needs to express the real you, in a good light. There is no need for lies or distortional images since you may end up having a date with a person who expects a different person.

It is important to minimize your flaws. There are various possibilities in which you can make yourself look better and here I do not want to say to use a lot of makeup. Just use the products that make you feel better and more confident in your looks. In the same time, it is important to keep it simple. There is no need for a special background, or different shades and lights. Do not use holiday snaps where you wear sunglasses or hats, but, in the same time, you need to use recent photos.

After you deal with your profile picture, you also need to work out your profile. As you may know, there are boxes for different aspects of one’s life. You can share your educations, job, interests, likes, dislikes, passions, etc. again, here, you need to keep things simple. Do not go over-discussing politics, religions, or other similar things.

The online profile can turn out to be a real help, mostly since you can gather a lot of useful information that could help you during the first date. By checking the date’s profile, you will find out plenty of interesting things, and you will definitely find some shared interests.
First dates can be a nerve-wracking affair, and whatever you choose to wear, it does not seem right. Go with your first option, and you will save yourself a lot of time in picking the right outfit.

Plan ahead

The person who asks the other person for a date needs to be fully responsible regarding the place where they would spend the night, what they will do afterwards, etc. There is nothing worse for a woman to go out on a date with a man that asks, “So, do you feel like doing something special tonight?” This is simply wrong. I do not suggest that men should thing out of the box and prepare an amazing night. As long as the things are simple, you will be more than OK. But, you will still need to have a plan.

The conversation

Regarding the date itself, there is no need to prepare the conversation in advance. Keep the conversation on neutral grounds, without asking personal questions, or too many personal details. It is best to discuss general topics such as hobbies and interests, current news, etc. even if we talk about mature dating or young dating, the point is all the same: to get comfortable with each other, to get to know each other better and to build rapport.

The rapport might sound a little bit too formal, but in fact, this is what we all do. When we know a new person, based on what she or he shared with us, we automatically create a profile and personality. Therefore, it is important not to lie, not to exaggerate, and definitely not to brag. On the other hand, make sure you are not too invasive or too inquisitive.

Relax and try to enjoy the night. I am sure that many dates have been ruined for lack of thought, or even because of too much effort. If you begin to have fun, your date will feel more comfortable and loose. Dating can be fun, and you should start enjoying it. As a last advice, just be yourself, be free of emotional issues and constraints, and have a lot of fun. I am sure that your date will be an overall success.

5 Questions You Should Avoid on a First Date

Dating after a long relationship can be pretty hard, especially if you do not think you have it in you. For this reason, you should prepare a little bit in advance. Since asking for a date is still the boys' task, they need to be very careful on making a good first impression. You know that there is no other chance to make another first impression, so you need to do your best.

At the first date, there is not much information to weight down. Therefore, your partner will settle with what you want to offer. Therefore, you need to show the best out of you. In the same time, when you ask a girl on a date, you might want to avoid asking the following annoying questions.

1. What are we going to do next?

If you are going to ask a girl on a date, you need to be prepared. Therefore, you should definitely not ask her what she wants to do on your date. You need to have something prepared in advance in order to show confidence and willingness. I know you are going to pick her up, and you assume she knows some good places near her, but this should not be your option. You need to think about a place that makes you comfortable and confident.

2. What is your job?

Even if you feel proud about your job, this does not mean you need to start talking about it all the time. In the same time, you should not ask her about her job and her income. This will only show that you are interested in her position and income. Women do not like men who brag about their financial status or about what they do for a living. If you still want to discuss your job, you should say how your job allows you to spend your free time doing some of your hobbies. On the other hand, if you do not like your job, you could easily say, “I hate my job” and share your plans.

3. What is your Type?

As some of you might imagine, this is a really uncomfortable question. It will only show that you lack confidence, and you need approval for her choices in the matter of men. You are her type, starting with the moment she accepted to go out with your. Do not talk about your type either. You will end up describing her, which will make her uncomfortable, or you will become rude, by describing someone else. The same goes for the things you hate. Better focus on the things you like, on the things she likes and find a middle subject that is pleasing both of you.

4. Will you want to cover the bill?

This might sound like something a man never asks, but in fact, I came across such a person, and I must confess I felt I had no words to answer. I know that it is not a man’s job to pay the whole bit, but it is definitely his job to offer. I would never let a man pay the whole bill on the first date, but at least, he should ask for it. The best way is to offer to pay the bill, and if a woman insists on splitting the bill, you can agree with this. The bill can become a terrible turning point, especially if you do not know how to handle the situation. However, it all depends on the type of person you are, and on the type of person, you go out with.

5. Should we move the date to my place?

I must confess this is the worse question a man should ask, especially after the first date. This will only prove that you wanted her in your sheets, and you do not care about how she felt during the night. However, I am not saying that this is not a possible scenario. You can move the date at your place, but only after you have seen multiple signs of acceptance. If a woman showed you, interest in getting more private and intimate, then you should ask this question, but not that direct. You should put the question in a different manner.
As you can see, dating can turn out to be great, as long as you know what to do and when to do it. I am sure that most of you will feel nervous and without confidence, at least at start, especially when you have not been dating for a while now. Nevertheless, in the same time, you will manage to do and say the right things, as long as you remember to be polite, respectful, and honest.
